Panthers Prowl into Buffalo: Sabres Host Florida at KeyBank Center

As the Florida Panthers prepare to face off against the Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Center, fans can anticipate an intriguing matchup. The Panthers have shown a mix of outcomes in their recent games, which could play a significant role in their performance on the ice.

In their last game against the Vegas Golden Knights, the Panthers secured a solid 4-2 victory. Their offensive efforts were commendable with 42 shots on goal and a shooting percentage of ten percent. The powerplay unit was particularly effective, capitalizing on two out of six opportunities – an impressive feat that they will aim to replicate against Buffalo.

However, consistency has been an issue for Florida. In the preceding game versus St. Louis Blues, despite winning more than two-thirds of faceoffs and firing 38 shots towards goal, they only managed to find the back of the net once – translating into a mere three percent shooting success rate. This loss highlighted some vulnerabilities that need addressing if they are to maintain upward momentum.

Moreover, when visiting Calgary Flames earlier in their schedule, Florida's performance dipped further as they suffered another defeat with just one goal from 34 shots – again reflecting a low shooting percentage of three percent. Although their powerplay scored once during five opportunities and goaltending remained strong with a save percentage rounding up to one hundred percent, it wasn't enough for victory.

The upcoming game presents an opportunity for redemption and consistency for Florida as they look to capitalize on special teams' play while improving even-strength scoring efficiency.

Fans can catch this exciting NHL action live on February 16th at KeyBank Center in Buffalo or tune into ESPN+ nationally or BSFL away from home for local coverage starting at 7:00 PM Eastern Time.
