In an impressive display at Madison Square Garden, the Panthers showcased their might by overcoming an early deficit to secure a win. Despite not scoring in the first period and trailing by one goal, they turned the game around with two goals in the second period and another two in the third. The Panthers' offense was firing on all cylinders as they tallied up a total of four goals from twenty-nine shots, boasting a shooting percentage of fourteen percent.

The powerplay unit for Florida contributed significantly to their success. They capitalized on one out of three opportunities while maintaining an eighty-six percent faceoff win rate during powerplays. Their special teams were also solid defensively; they did not allow any goals during their penalty kills and saved all eight shots faced when shorthanded.

Florida's goaltender played a pivotal role with twenty-six saves throughout the game and held strong against all shots faced during even strength play. This performance was instrumental in securing his team's win as he stopped every shot except for two during shorthanded situations.

On top of that, Florida's defense blocked sixteen shots and executed five takeaways which helped maintain their lead once established. An empty-net goal sealed their victory late in the third period after consistent pressure kept New York at bay.

The Rangers put up a valiant effort but fell short despite matching Florida's hit count at nineteen and blocking an equal number of attempts. Their powerplay managed to convert twice from ten shots but struggled to find success beyond those moments due to only winning forty-six percent of faceoffs overall.
