Panthers Powerplay Pounces: Florida Panthers Set for Skirmish with New York Rangers

As the Florida Panthers prepare to face off against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden, fans are buzzing with anticipation. The Panthers, coming off a thrilling 4-3 victory over the Dallas Stars on March 13th, have shown they possess a lethal powerplay unit that could be the key to unlocking the Rangers' defense.

In their recent triumph, FLA demonstrated resilience and offensive prowess by rallying from behind and scoring three powerplay goals out of four opportunities. This impressive 75 percent success rate on the man advantage was pivotal in their comeback. The team's ability to capitalize on these chances will undoubtedly be crucial as they head into enemy territory.

The Panthers' performance in Dallas was characterized by an aggressive approach that saw them register 41 hits and take control of the game physically. However, there is room for improvement in faceoff circles where they won only 45 percent of draws. Winning more faceoffs could help FLA maintain possession and dictate play against NYR.

Looking at goaltending, FLA's netminder played a significant role in their last win, saving all but three of the thirty shots faced for a perfect save percentage during even strength play. This kind of reliability between the pipes will be essential when facing a Rangers team known for its scoring depth.

On March 9th against Calgary Flames at Amerant Bank Arena, FLA showcased their offensive depth by putting up five goals and winning decisively with a final score of 5-1. Their shooting percentage stood at an impressive 16 percent that night – another testament to their efficiency up front.

However, it wasn't just offense where FLA excelled; defensively they were just as dominant against Calgary Flames allowing only one goal on thirty-five shots thanks to stellar goaltending which posted an equally impressive save percentage during even strength play.

Despite these strong performances, it's important not to overlook NYR who will present a formidable challenge on home ice. The Rangers have been consistent this season and boast high-caliber players capable of turning any game around.

The upcoming clash promises excitement as both teams bring contrasting styles – FLA’s high-octane offense versus NYR’s structured defensive play – setting up what could be an epic battle at one of hockey’s most storied venues.

Fans can catch all action live from Madison Square Garden on March 24th; puck drop is scheduled for prime time viewing with broadcasts available both on ABC television network and ESPN+ internet streaming service. Don't miss what promises to be another thrilling chapter in this Eastern Conference rivalry!
