In an intense matchup at the Bell Centre, the Florida Panthers demonstrated a strong offensive effort but ultimately fell short against the Montreal Canadiens. The Panthers opened with vigor, putting two goals on the board in the first period and maintaining a solid lead. However, despite outshooting their opponents with 40 attempts to their 38 and dominating faceoffs with a winning percentage of 64 percent compared to Montreal's 36 percent, they couldn't sustain their early momentum.

The powerplay unit for Florida had ample opportunities to capitalize on their man advantage but failed to convert any of their five chances despite nine shots on goal during these plays. This lackluster performance during critical moments contrasted sharply with their overall shooting percentage which stood at eight percent for this game.

Defensively, while blocking an impressive number of shots (16), they gave away seven times and incurred ten minor penalties amounting to forty penalty minutes. These infractions provided Montreal ample opportunities which they seized; scoring once on seven powerplay chances and even netting a shorthanded goal.

Florida's goaltender faced thirty-eight shots and made thirty-three saves throughout sixty minutes on ice but allowed five past him – three at even strength – resulting in a save percentage rounding up to one hundred percent for even-strength play but falling short overall.

On offense, every goal scored by Florida came from even-strength play where they managed twenty-five shots. They also showed prowess in physicality by delivering seventeen hits over three periods. Despite these efforts and leading in assists (three), points (six), blocked attempts (twenty), faceoff wins (forty-two), missed shots (seventeen) as well as having fewer giveaways than Montreal's six; it wasn't enough to secure victory.

The upcoming game for the Florida Panthers will be against Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Centre scheduled for April 4th at 7:00 PM Eastern Time. Fans can catch this match live through ESPN+ online or BSFL television network broadcasts.
