The third period saw both teams battling for dominance but ultimately it was Tampa Bay who managed to secure two additional goals. These decisive scores cemented their victory over the visiting team from Florida.

On defense, goaltending for the Panthers showed resilience with a total save percentage rounding up to an impressive figure near perfection; however they conceded six goals out of thirty-two shots by Tampa Bay including two shorthanded goals which proved critical for their opponents' triumph.
