From the onset, both teams demonstrated their intent to dominate the game. However, it was during the second period that the Bruins began to pull away significantly by scoring three goals. They continued their offensive onslaught into the third period with an additional two goals. The Bruins' ability to capitalize on opportunities was evident as they scored five even-strength goals from twenty-nine shots.

The Panthers managed to find the back of the net once out of thirty-nine attempts but struggled to convert their chances into more points on the board. Despite winning fifty-nine percent of faceoffs and blocking eleven shots, these efforts were not enough to tilt the game in their favor.

Defensively, both teams had moments of brilliance; however, it was Boston's goaltender who stole the show with an impressive thirty-eight saves from thirty-nine shots - showcasing a perfect save percentage in even-strength situations. In contrast, Florida's goaltending efforts saw twenty-four saves from twenty-eight shots before conceding an empty-net goal towards game end.

Special teams played a crucial role throughout this encounter. While both teams had powerplay opportunities - three for Florida and two for Boston - neither side could capitalize on these advantages. This aspect highlighted areas for improvement especially for Florida who failed to score despite six powerplay shots.
