The game, held at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, saw the Panthers struggling to find their rhythm early on, failing to score in the first period while the Oilers capitalized once. The second period brought more action from both teams, with the Panthers managing to net two goals but allowing three more by the Oilers. In a final push during the third period, each team added one goal to their tally.

Despite outshooting their opponents 32-24 and dominating faceoffs with a win percentage of 60 percent compared to Edmonton's 40 percent, it was not enough for Florida. The Panthers also led in hits (38) and blocked shots (12), showcasing their physical presence throughout the match.

Evan Rodrigues stood out for Florida by securing one of the stars of the game honors thanks to his performance on ice which contributed significantly towards his team's efforts.

On special teams play, both squads had opportunities with power plays; however, it was Edmonton who capitalized by scoring twice out of five chances while Florida failed to convert any of its three power play opportunities into goals.

Goaltending played a pivotal role as well; despite facing fewer shots (24), Florida’s netminder allowed four goals before an empty-netter sealed their fate. In contrast, Edmonton’s goalie turned away an impressive number of shots (29) ensuring his team maintained its lead throughout.

Looking ahead after this tough loss at home against Edmonton Oilers will be seeking redemption when they visit Rogers Place in Edmonton for another matchup scheduled on June 15th at 6:00 PM Mountain Time Zone.
