Florida Panthers Roar Back in Third Period to Overcome Carolina Hurricanes at Lenovo Center

First Period


The first period saw the home team, the Hurricanes, take an early lead. Jesperi Kotkaniemi was instrumental for the Canes, contributing significantly as they netted two goals. Despite being outshot by Carolina's aggressive offense, Florida's defense managed to hold firm after those initial strikes.


Second Period


In the second period, both teams struggled to find any scoring opportunities. The Panthers' goaltender Daniil Tarasov was outstanding between the pipes, making crucial saves that kept his team within striking distance. His performance laid a solid foundation for what was about to unfold in the final period.

Third Period


The third period belonged entirely to Florida as they mounted an impressive comeback. Noah Gregor and Jack Studnicka each found their way onto the scoresheet with pivotal goals that shifted momentum in favor of the Cats. Mike Benning also played a key role by adding another goal and assist during this decisive stretch.


Daniil Tarasov continued his stellar play throughout this frame and ended up saving 47 shots overall—an effort that earned him recognition as one of three stars of this matchup alongside teammate Mike Benning who contributed significantly on both ends of ice.
