First Period

The opening period set the tone for the night as the Cats took an early lead. Aaron Ekblad was instrumental in this phase, contributing significantly to both defense and offense. His presence on the ice was felt as he notched an assist that helped propel Florida ahead with two goals in this period alone.

Second Period

In the second period, Brad Marchand showcased his offensive skills by adding another goal to Florida's tally. The Sens struggled to break through Florida's solid defense led by Sergei Bobrovsky, who made crucial saves throughout this segment. Despite Ottawa’s efforts, they couldn't find their way onto the scoreboard during these minutes.

This marked Lundell’s second point of the game and further solidified his role as a key player for the team. Meanwhile, Ottawa managed to squeeze in one more goal but it wasn't enough to close their deficit against a dominant Panther side.

The pivotal moment came when Ekblad executed an impressive play that resulted in another goal for Florida—this was undoubtedly one of those instances where his leadership shone brightly on ice; truly encapsulating what made him stand out during this matchup.
