First Period

The opening period saw both teams come out strong, each scoring twice. The Cats were quick on their skates, with Sam Reinhart contributing significantly by assisting two goals. However, it was Nazem Kadri of the Flaming C who stole the spotlight early on with his dynamic play that set up crucial opportunities for his team.

Second Period

In contrast to their first-period performance, the Panthers struggled in this segment as they failed to find the back of the net. Meanwhile, Rasmus Andersson from Calgary capitalized on a powerplay opportunity during a 5-on-3 advantage and added another goal for his team. The Cats' defense was tested repeatedly but managed to hold off further damage despite being outshot.

Third Period

Entering into what would be a decisive third period, Evan Rodrigues managed to score for Florida, keeping hopes alive for a comeback. Yet again it was Kadri who made an impact by orchestrating plays that kept pressure on Florida’s defense throughout this final stretch of playtime.

Despite Daniil Tarasov's commendable effort between posts—making 29 saves—the Cats couldn't overcome Calgary’s offensive push led by stars like Andersson and Kadri who were instrumental in sealing their win.
