First Period

The opening period saw the Blueshirts take an early lead, scoring twice and setting the tone for what would be a dominant performance. The Cats struggled to find their rhythm, unable to capitalize on their opportunities despite outshooting their opponents.

Second Period

In the second period, both teams tightened up defensively. The Rangers managed to extend their lead with another goal, while Florida's attempts were thwarted by strong goaltending from New York's netminder. The Cats' powerplay unit was active but couldn't convert any of their chances into goals.

Third Period

The final period witnessed some action from both sides. Sam Reinhart scored for Florida during a powerplay opportunity, assisted by Brad Marchand and Sam Bennett. However, it was not enough as Mika Zibanejad and Artemi Panarin led the charge for New York with crucial plays that sealed their victory.

Despite having more shots on goal (37) than the Rangers (20), Florida's shooting percentage was only 3 percent compared to New York’s impressive 25 percent efficiency. Sergei Bobrovsky made several key saves but ultimately faced too much pressure from an aggressive Ranger offense that capitalized on every mistake.
