The game at Amalie Arena was a showcase of resilience and tactical play from both teams. The Kings started off slow, with no goals to show in the first period. However, they turned up the heat in the second period by netting two goals that shifted momentum their way. The team's shooting accuracy was evident as they scored on 9 percent of their shots taken during the game.

Los Angeles demonstrated a strong defensive effort throughout the match, blocking an impressive total of 24 shots and delivering a substantial number of hits totaling 41. Their goaltender put up an admirable performance with a save percentage rounding to an impeccable hundred percent despite letting three past him over time.

On offense, Los Angeles managed to convert one out of their single powerplay opportunity into shots but couldn't capitalize on it for goals. They were more successful during even strength play where both their goals were scored from twenty attempts.

The Kings' faceoff game was evenly matched against Tampa Bay's efforts; both teams won exactly half of their faceoffs at fifty percent each. This parity extended beyond just faceoffs as giveaways and takeaways saw similar numbers with six giveaways for Los Angeles compared to nine for Tampa Bay and eighteen takeaways for Los Angeles versus ten for Tampa Bay.

Despite these efforts, it was not enough to secure victory as Tampa Bay managed to tie up the game late in regulation before clinching it during overtime thanks to an additional goal which also happened to be their winning goal marked true in statistics.

Looking ahead after this hard-fought battle on ice, fans can catch the next action-packed encounter when the Los Angeles Kings visit Sunrise to take on Florida Panthers at Amerant Bank Arena on January 12th. This upcoming match will be broadcasted nationally via ESPN+ online platform and regionally through BSFL channel 654 for home fans or BSW channel 692 for those supporting LA away from home starting at midnight Eastern Time zone.
