The game at Enterprise Center saw an energetic start as both teams found the back of the net in the first period. The Kings' offense was firing on all cylinders with a total of 33 shots on goal throughout the game and managed to convert three into scores. Their shooting accuracy was evident with a nine percent shooting percentage and they were particularly effective during even strength play where they scored two goals from 28 shots.

Los Angeles showcased their resilience by scoring one shorthanded goal out of four attempts during penalty kills. This effort was complemented by their goaltender's impressive performance under pressure; he made 28 saves across various situations including even strength and shorthanded scenarios.

Despite these efforts, penalties proved costly for the Kings as they served six minor infractions leading to twelve penalty minutes. However, their penalty kill units held strong as no powerplay goals were conceded from these situations.

On faceoffs, it was nearly an even split with Los Angeles winning 26 out of 53 attempts but falling slightly short in overall faceoff win percentage at forty-nine percent compared to St. Louis' fifty-one percent.

The Blues capitalized on their opportunities especially during powerplays where they scored one goal from six chances and twelve shots. Their winning goal came during overtime play which also contributed to their higher overall shooting percentage at twelve percent compared to that of Los Angeles.
