Kings Set to Rule the Rink in Dallas Duel with Stars

As the Los Angeles Kings prepare to face off against the Dallas Stars at the American Airlines Center, fans are eager to see if their team can carry forward the momentum from their recent performances. The Kings have been a force on ice, and their upcoming game on March 17 promises to be an electrifying encounter.

Looking back at their last game against the Vancouver Canucks on March 6, despite a narrow loss in overtime with a final score of 2-1, there were positive takeaways for LA. Their defensive play was notable as they blocked 19 shots and had a goaltender who saved 29 out of 31 shots – showcasing a save percentage of an impressive hundred percent. However, one area that needs improvement is faceoffs; winning only 36 percent is something they'll need to address before facing DAL.

The Kings' powerplay opportunities were limited in that game, with only one chance which they failed to capitalize on. This contrasts starkly with their dominant performance against New Jersey Devils on March 3 where they won by a landslide five points to one. In that game, LA's powerplay unit found success scoring once out of three opportunities and overall shooting percentage was an exceptional twenty-two percent.

When comparing these games, it's clear that when LA gets chances on powerplay and maintains shooting accuracy, they can dictate games. Against DAL who will be playing at home advantage in Texas – this becomes even more crucial.

The Dallas Stars will not make it easy though; as hosts they'll look to assert themselves early in the game. It’s important for LA not just defensively but also offensively - maintaining puck possession and creating scoring opportunities through precise passing and strong forechecking will be key strategies.

As we approach this clash between two formidable teams in the NHL landscape, all eyes will be set on how well Los Angeles Kings can execute their gameplay under pressure away from home ice.

Fans should mark their calendars for what promises to be an exciting matchup scheduled for March 17th at American Airlines Center in Dallas. The puck drops after sundown and those unable to attend can catch all action live via ESPN+ online or BSSW/BSW television networks.
