The Kings took an early lead in the first period with two goals, setting the tone for what was to become a dominant display of hockey. Mikey Anderson and Adrian Kempe were among the stars who shone brightly for Los Angeles. Anderson's defensive prowess earned him one of the three star selections for his role in limiting Detroit’s scoring opportunities while also contributing offensively with one goal from four shots. Kempe’s sharpshooting saw him netting twice on just three attempts.


Opposition Effort


The Red Wings managed only one goal from their 18 shots throughout all periods – a testament to both teams' defensive strategies but also highlighting Los Angeles' superior execution on both ends of ice. Their lone goal came during even strength play in the third period which momentarily gave them hope before Los Angeles sealed their fate with two more goals.

Detroit struggled particularly with giveaways and faceoffs - giving up possession twenty-four times and winning only forty-four percent of faceoffs compared to fifty-six percent by Los Angeles.
