First Period

The opening period saw both teams testing each other's defenses, but it was the Stars who struck first. Despite having more shots on goal, with 25 compared to Dallas's 18 throughout the game, L.A. struggled to convert their opportunities into goals. The Kings' powerplay unit had two chances but only managed one shot on goal during these opportunities.

Second Period

In a goalless second period for both sides, defensive plays took center stage. The Kings showcased their physicality with a total of 24 hits in the game compared to Dallas's 17. However, they couldn't capitalize on this aggression offensively as they continued to trail behind.

Third Period

The final period witnessed an attempt by L.A.'s Quinton Byfield to rally his team with a powerplay goal assisted by Corey Perry and Brandt Clarke. Despite this effort bringing some hope for a comeback, it was short-lived as the Green and Gold responded swiftly with two more goals that sealed their victory.

Dallas's Wyatt Johnston emerged as one of the stars of the match alongside goalie Jake Oettinger who made crucial saves against L.A.'s attempts throughout all three periods.
