In a closely contested match at the Xcel Energy Center, the home crowd witnessed the Minnesota Wild put up a resilient fight against the Colorado Avalanche. Despite outshooting their opponents with a total of 43 shots to Colorado's 19, the Wild fell short by one goal. The home team's shooting accuracy was recorded at five percent compared to their rivals' sixteen percent.

The game saw both teams evenly matched in faceoffs with each side winning 52 times. However, it was in powerplay opportunities where differences emerged; while both teams had two chances each, it was only the Wild who capitalized on one occasion. This powerplay success is reflected in their perfect faceoff win percentage during these moments.

Defensively speaking, hits were almost even between both sides as well – nineteen for Minnesota and twenty-two for Colorado. Blocked shots also showed parity with eighteen apiece for each team.

Minnesota's goaltender faced fewer shots but had a save percentage of eighty-four percent which unfortunately did not match up to his counterpart from Colorado who boasted an impressive ninety-five percent save rate after facing forty-three shots.

On an individual level for Minnesota, six players contributed points through two goals and four assists while six takeaways highlighted their defensive efforts despite ultimately conceding three goals during even strength play.

Looking ahead for fans of the Minnesota Wild: The next game is scheduled against Dallas Stars on February 17th at eight PM Central Time Zone at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. Fans can catch this upcoming game live on ESPN+ or local channels BSN and BSWIX.
