On offense, ten takeaways reflected Minnesota's aggressive pursuit to regain puck possession. However, despite firing off more shots than their opponents with a total of thirty-two attempts on goal, they fell short by just one shot finding its way past Buffalo’s netminder who had an impeccable night with a save percentage rounding up to one hundred percent.

Buffalo’s winning goal came during overtime play after both teams had scored twice in regulation time. This decisive moment was marked by their ability to capitalize on one out of three powerplays granted during regular time and securing victory through an overtime shot that found its mark.
