Wild's Last-Minute Bite Fails as Sharks Prevail at SAP Center

First Period


The opening period saw an early lead for the Wild, courtesy of Mats Zuccarello's goal. Despite being outshot by the Sharks, who managed 28 shots on goal throughout the game compared to Minnesota's 23, Jesper Wallstedt stood firm in net with a total of 25 saves.


Second Period


The second period was dominated by San Jose as they scored twice to take control. The Wild struggled offensively during this segment and were unable to capitalize on their powerplay opportunity. Kirill Kaprizov and Marcus Johansson were active but couldn't find the back of the net.

Third Period


In an exciting third period, both teams exchanged goals. Vladimir Tarasenko found his mark for Minnesota, leveling things momentarily before San Jose responded again. Zach Bogosian contributed defensively with key assists that kept Minnesota competitive until late in regulation.


Overtime and Shootout
