First Period

The opening period saw both teams testing each other's defenses without finding the back of the net. The Wild managed to outshoot their opponents with 35 shots on goal throughout the game but were unable to capitalize early on. Goaltender Filip Gustavsson stood firm for Minnesota, making crucial saves to keep his team in contention.

Second Period

The second period was where things began to heat up as Los Angeles broke through with two goals. The Kings' Andrei Kuzmenko showcased his skill by contributing significantly during this period and earning himself recognition as one of the game's stars. Meanwhile, Jared Spurgeon from Minnesota provided some resistance with solid defensive plays and an assist that would later contribute to their tally.

Third Period

In an attempt to mount a comeback, Minnesota found success on special teams during powerplay opportunities in the third period. Mats Zuccarello played a pivotal role by assisting one of their two goals scored during this segment; however, it wasn't enough against L.A.'s relentless attack which added another pair of goals including an empty-netter sealing victory for them.

Despite falling short against Los Angeles' offensive prowess led by Darcy Kuemper's stellar goaltending performance (33 saves), there were positive takeaways such as improved faceoff win percentage (48 percent) compared to previous games along with notable contributions from players like Joel Eriksson Ek who remained active throughout all three periods despite not registering any points himself yet again proving why he is considered among top forwards within league circles today!
