Los Angeles Kings Glide Past Montreal Canadiens at Bell Centre

The Montreal Canadiens, with a season record of 10-14, faced off against the Los Angeles Kings, who came into the game with a 16-10 record. In a contest that saw the home team struggle to find the back of the net, it was the Kings who emerged victorious with a final score of 4-0.

At Bell Centre in Montreal, fans witnessed their team being outplayed by a determined Los Angeles squad. The Kings' offense was firing on all cylinders as they peppered the Canadiens' goal with 42 shots. The visitors capitalized on their opportunities by scoring twice in the first period and adding one goal each in both subsequent periods. Their shooting accuracy was evident as they finished with an impressive nine percent shooting percentage.

The Canadiens were not without effort; they won 35 faceoffs and blocked nine shots but could not convert any of their 24 shots into goals. Despite having three powerplay opportunities to change the momentum of the game, they failed to capitalize on any of them. The home team's goaltender made 38 saves but ultimately allowed four goals.

On defense, both teams were active; however, it was Los Angeles that excelled at blocking attempts from Montreal players by stopping eighteen shots compared to Montreal's twelve blocks. Discipline also played a role in this matchup as penalties were called against both teams—nine penalty minutes for Montreal and thirteen for Los Angeles—but only one powerplay goal was scored throughout.

As fans look ahead after this tough loss at home, attention turns to future matchups where redemption can be sought.

The next challenge for the Montreal Canadiens will be an away game against Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Center on December 10th. Fans eager to support their team can tune into MSG-B channel or ESPN+ for live coverage starting at midnight Eastern Time as per scheduled broadcast networks.
