In an impressive display of offensive might, the Canadiens dominated their opponents throughout the match. The first period ended without any goals from either side, but it set the stage for what was to come. The second period saw a surge from Montreal as they netted three goals past Anaheim's defense. This offensive onslaught continued into the third period where they added two more goals to their tally.

Montreal's powerplay unit proved particularly effective, converting two out of six opportunities into goals and maintaining a faceoff win percentage of 54 percent during powerplays. Their special teams' success was complemented by solid even-strength play where they scored three additional goals and won 48 percent of faceoffs.

The Canadiens also showcased disciplined play with only eight penalties compared to Anaheim's ten and managed to keep their penalty minutes slightly higher at 33 minutes due to one misconduct penalty. Despite this minor setback, it did not hinder their performance on ice.

Anaheim struggled throughout the game, unable to find an answer for Montreal's relentless attack. They were shut out despite having three powerplay chances and could not capitalize on any of them with only two shots on goal during those opportunities. Their goaltender faced a barrage of shots totaling 38 attempts and made 33 saves but ultimately suffered a loss due to his team’s inability to produce offensively.

Defensively, Montreal was just as strong; they blocked a total of 12 shots while limiting Anaheim’s shooting percentage to zero by allowing no pucks past their goaltender who saved all 13 shots he faced.

Looking ahead for fans eager for more action from 'the Habs', 'the' Montreal Canadiens will be visiting Madison Square Garden in New York City for their next game against 'the' New York Rangers scheduled on February 16th at midnight UTC time (7 PM Eastern Time). Fans can catch this matchup live nationally via ESPN+ online or locally on channel MSG TV network.
