The visitors from Washington capitalized on their shorthanded strength scoring once despite being outnumbered on ice. They took a total of thirty-four shots achieving a twelve percent shooting accuracy rate and blocked an impressive sixteen attempts by Montreal to maintain their lead.


Montreal's effort was further hampered by twenty giveaways compared to Washington's nine, indicating some challenges in maintaining puck control under pressure. Nonetheless, they were able to deliver nineteen hits throughout the game showing physical presence and determination.
