First Period

The first period saw the home team, CBJ, take an early lead with a goal that set the tone for their aggressive play. Despite being outshot by Montreal, who registered 32 shots on goal throughout the game compared to Columbus's 23, it was clear that both teams were evenly matched in terms of skill and determination.

Second Period

In the second period, Montreal managed to level things up with a goal from Josh Anderson. His performance was notable as he capitalized on one of his three shots on target. However, Columbus responded quickly with two more goals before heading into intermission.

Third Period

The third period witnessed a spirited comeback attempt by Montreal as they scored twice to tie up the game at 3-3. Oliver Kapanen contributed significantly during this time by scoring one of these crucial goals and maintaining an impressive shooting percentage of 100 percent from his single shot attempt.

Overtime and Shootout

Despite their efforts in regulation time and overtime where they had six additional shots but failed to score, it was ultimately during shootouts that CBJ secured victory thanks largely due to Kirill Marchenko's decisive contributions which earned him recognition among stars for this matchup alongside teammates Zach Werenski and Dmitri Voronkov who also played pivotal roles throughout various stages within regulation periods themselves too!
