Montreal Canadiens' Third Period Surge Sinks Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Center

The Montreal Canadiens emerged victorious against the Buffalo Sabres with a 4-2 win at the KeyBank Center. This victory improved the Habs' record to 31-17-7, while the Sabres now stand at 31-18-5. First Period


The opening period saw both teams struggling to find their rhythm, with neither side managing to score. The Canadiens managed to put up 1 goal in this period, thanks to Oliver Kapanen's effort. Despite being outshot by the Blue and Gold with a total of 38 shots against them throughout the game, Jakub Dobes stood tall in goal for Montreal.


Second Period


Buffalo found their stride in the second period as they netted two goals. Owen Power was instrumental for the Swords during this stretch, contributing significantly on defense and offense alike. However, despite these efforts from Buffalo's side, they couldn't extend their lead further due to Dobes' impressive goaltending skills.

Third Period


The final period belonged entirely to Montreal as they scored three unanswered goals that turned around what seemed like an impending defeat into triumph instead! Cole Caufield shone brightly once again by scoring twice during this crucial phase; his performance earned him recognition among stars of night alongside teammate Jakub Dobes who made key saves when needed most!
