First period


The Hurricanes opened the scoring with 1 goal in the first period while the Habs were held to 0.

Second period


The Habs flipped the game by scoring 3 goals in the second period after a first period with 0.

Third period


Neither team scored in the third period as Montreal held the Canes to 0 goals after Carolina scored once in the first period.
