In their last game against the Dallas Stars, the Predators were overwhelmed with a 9-2 defeat. Despite winning faceoffs at a rate of 56 percent, they struggled on power plays, failing to capitalize on two opportunities. Their shooting percentage was notably low at seven percent compared to the Stars' impressive 22 percent.

The previous encounter with the New Jersey Devils saw a closer contest but still resulted in a loss for Nashville with a scoreline of 4-2. The team's shooting percentage remained low at six percent despite an increase in hits and takeaways from their prior game.

However, it wasn't all gloom for Nashville as they secured an overtime victory against the Arizona Coyotes with five goals to four. Their shooting percentage improved significantly to 14 percent and they won over half of their faceoffs. This performance showcased their ability to bounce back and will be crucial as they face off against Ottawa.

The upcoming game presents an opportunity for redemption on home ice where fan support can provide an additional boost. The focus will likely be on improving power play efficiency and maintaining strong goaltending which has been consistent even through losses.
