Predators Edge Blue Jackets in Even-Strength Showcase at Nationwide Arena

In a game where even-strength play dictated the pace, the Predators demonstrated their resilience and tactical acumen. Nashville's offense was relentless throughout, firing off an impressive total of 49 shots on goal. The team's shooting percentage stood at four percent as they managed to convert two of those attempts into scores during regulation time. Both goals for Nashville came during even-strength play, underscoring their ability to capitalize without the man advantage.

The Predators' defense and goaltending were equally formidable. The netminder played a pivotal role with a perfect save percentage, turning away all but one of the 33 shots faced over three periods. This performance included three crucial saves while shorthanded and an unyielding presence during power plays against them.

Faceoffs were another area where Nashville excelled; winning 60 percent of faceoff draws highlighted their control over puck possession—a critical factor in their win. Their defensive efforts were further bolstered by blocking 17 shots and executing five takeaways.

On special teams, despite having three powerplay opportunities which generated four shots on goal, Nashville couldn't find the back of the net with the man advantage but maintained discipline by only serving two penalties for minor infractions totaling four penalty minutes.

The Blue Jackets put up a strong fight despite falling short on home ice at Nationwide Arena before an attendance of 17,602 fans. Columbus' goaltender had an outstanding night despite being on the losing end—making an incredible total of 47 saves—and was instrumental in keeping his team within striking distance throughout this closely contested match-up.

Looking ahead for fans eager to follow their team's progress: The next game for Nashville Predators will be against Minnesota Wild at Xcel Energy Center located in St. Paul on March 10th scheduled to start at 7:30 PM Eastern Time Zone. This upcoming match can be watched live via broadcast networks TNT and Max providing television and internet coverage respectively.
