Predators' Powerplay Precision Not Enough in High-Scoring Duel with Coyotes

The Nashville Predators, with a record of 31-28, faced off against the Arizona Coyotes, who held a 20-39 record. Despite a valiant effort, the Predators fell short in a high-scoring game that ended 8-4 in favor of the Coyotes.

The Nashville Predators entered the match at Mullett Arena with determination. They opened their account early by netting two goals in the first period and adding another to their tally in the second. The third period saw them score once more, bringing their total for the night to four goals from 37 shots. The powerplay unit was particularly effective, converting two opportunities into goals from just two shots.

However, it was not just about offense for the Predators; they also demonstrated physicality throughout the game with a total of 35 hits. Their defensive efforts included blocking 15 shots and successfully taking away possession eight times from their opponents.

Despite these efforts, goaltending proved to be an area of concern as they allowed six goals on even strength and conceded two empty-netters towards the end of regulation time. The goaltender made 32 saves but faced an onslaught of 38 shots during playtime and ultimately suffered a loss credited to his performance.

On special teams aside from powerplays where they excelled at scoring twice and had an impressive faceoff win percentage at powerplays (33 percent), they struggled on penalty kills allowing one goal out of five shorthanded situations.

The Arizona Coyotes capitalized on their chances by scoring eight times from an aggressive offensive display that saw them take 40 shots throughout three periods. Their shooting accuracy stood out as they managed a shooting percentage double that of Nashville's at approximately twenty percent.

Looking ahead after this tough encounter, fans can catch Nashville Predators as they travel to face Colorado Avalanche at Ball Arena on March 30th scheduled for broadcast at 9:00 PM MST across ESPN+, ALT network for television viewership or BSSO network channels.
