The Nashville Predators faced off against the Montreal Canadiens at Bell Centre, ending with a 3-2 overtime loss. This result brought the Preds to a record of 2-1-2, while the Habs improved to 4-1-0. First Period

The opening period saw both teams locked in a defensive battle, resulting in no goals scored. The Preds managed to keep up with Montreal's pace despite being outshot by their opponents. Juuse Saros stood firm in goal for Nashville, making crucial saves that kept the scoreline even.

Second Period

In the second period, Nashville broke through first with a powerplay goal from Steven Stamkos. The assist came from Roman Josi and Luke Evangelista as they capitalized on one of their two powerplay opportunities during this period. Despite having fewer shots on goal compared to Montreal's three attempts during their powerplays, Nashville showed efficiency by converting one of theirs into points.

Third Period

Montreal responded strongly in the third period by scoring twice and taking control of the game momentarily. However, Nick Perbix managed to equalize for Nashville late in regulation time with an even-strength goal assisted by Michael McCarron.

Overtime

As overtime commenced, it was clear that both teams were eager for victory but cautious not to make mistakes. Unfortunately for Nashville fans hoping for another comeback win like previous games this season—such as those highlighted in recent "Nashville Predators match rating" discussions—the Canadiens clinched victory through Cole Caufield’s decisive shot.

Despite falling short at Bell Centre against formidable opponents like Nick Suzuki who led his team effectively throughout all periods played today; there remains optimism among supporters given how closely matched these sides appeared overall based upon "Nashville Predators final whistle reaction."
