First Period

The opening period saw both teams finding their rhythm early on. The Preds managed to get on the scoreboard first with Filip Forsberg leading an offensive charge that resulted in a goal. However, Brock Boeser of the Nucks quickly responded with his own goal, leveling things up by period's end.

Second Period

In this period, special teams played a crucial role as both squads capitalized on powerplay opportunities. Michael Bunting contributed significantly for Nashville with one goal and one assist during this stretch. Meanwhile, Evander Kane's presence was felt as he helped Vancouver take advantage of their powerplays by assisting in two goals.

Third Period

As tension mounted in the third period, each team added two more goals to their tally. Erik Haula found his way onto the scoresheet for Nashville with a well-timed shot past Vancouver’s goaltender. Yet again though it was Boeser who kept pace by adding another point to his impressive performance.

Overtime

The game reached its climax during overtime when an unfortunate defensive lapse allowed Elias Pettersson from Vancouver to break through and score decisively against Juuse Saros—who had otherwise been solid between pipes saving 31 shots throughout regulation time.
