First Period

The opening period saw a strong start from Seattle, who capitalized on their opportunities and scored three goals. The Preds struggled to find their rhythm early on, with Juuse Saros making 19 saves but unable to keep all shots at bay. Despite having more faceoff wins than losses in this period, Nashville couldn't convert these into scoring chances.

Second Period

In the second period, Nashville found some momentum through a powerplay opportunity. Roman Josi managed to score with an assist from Ryan O'Reilly and Luke Evangelista during a 5v4 advantage. This goal marked their only successful powerplay conversion out of two attempts throughout the game. The Preds showed resilience by tightening up defensively and limiting Seattle's scoring chances.

Third Period

As the third period unfolded, both teams battled hard defensively. However, it was Matty Beniers of Seattle who sealed their victory with another goal for his team. The Preds continued to apply pressure but were unable to break through Philipp Grubauer’s solid goaltending performance as he made 24 saves overall.

Despite outshooting Seattle by two shots (25 compared to 23), Nashville struggled with accuracy as evidenced by their shooting percentage of just four percent compared against Kraken’s seventeen percent efficiency rate during even-strength play.

Nashville's defensive efforts were notable; they recorded more blocked shots than giveaways which helped mitigate further damage from occurring against them late into gameplay timeframes such as when facing empty net situations where no additional goals were conceded despite increased offensive pressure applied towards endgame scenarios like those seen here today between these two competitive sides vying fiercely over every inch contested across ice surfaces alike!

Looking ahead: Fans can catch up next when they take on Calgary Flames at Scotiabank Saddledome scheduled January third starting seven PM Eastern Daylight Time broadcasted live via ESPN+ or FDSSO networks respectively available online streaming options too!
