First Period


The opening period saw both teams finding their rhythm, but it was the Preds who struck first. Third Period


In the final period, special teams became pivotal for Nashville as they capitalized on powerplay opportunities. Steven Stamkos and Cole Smith each netted goals during man advantages, demonstrating precision and teamwork that left Washington scrambling defensively. Although Alex Ovechkin managed to pull one back for the Caps late in the game with another powerplay goal, it wasn't enough to overcome Nashville's lead.


Roman Josi stood out not only as a defensive stalwart but also contributed significantly on offense with 1 goal and 2 assists throughout this encounter. His leadership on ice was instrumental in guiding his team through challenging moments against a formidable opponent like Washington.
