First Period


The opening period saw both teams testing each other's defenses. The Predators managed to break through first with Filip Forsberg scoring from a well-executed play. However, despite their early lead and an impressive faceoff win percentage of 52 percent overall, they couldn't capitalize further during this period.


Second Period


As play resumed, Nashville's offense hit a roadblock as they failed to score any goals in this segment. The Vegas defense tightened up significantly, allowing them only limited opportunities on goal with just seven powerplay shots throughout their attempts. Meanwhile, Vegas began finding their rhythm and netted two goals by capitalizing on turnovers and defensive lapses from Nashville.

Third Period


In what became an uphill battle for the Preds during the final stretch of playtime; they conceded five more goals while managing only one themselves courtesy of Luke Evangelista's effort. Goaltender Justus Annunen faced relentless pressure from Vegas attackers but made 29 saves out of 36 shots against him – highlighting his resilience despite conceding multiple times under intense circumstances.


The standout performances came from Roman Josi who contributed two assists showing leadership amidst adversity alongside Ryan O'Reilly’s assist which added depth into offensive plays attempted by his team members like Steven Stamkos or Michael Bunting whose efforts were thwarted due largely because opposing goalie Akira Schmid stood firm between posts making crucial stops when needed most ensuring victory remained firmly within grasping reach till buzzer sounded signaling end match proceedings altogether!
