The opening period saw an explosive start from the visiting team, as Buffalo quickly took control by scoring three goals. The Preds struggled to find their rhythm early on, despite having more shots on goal than their opponents. Juuse Saros, Nashville's goaltender, faced intense pressure but managed some crucial saves amidst this offensive barrage.
