First Period

Second Period


As the second period commenced, Minnesota began to find their rhythm. Despite Nashville's solid defense led by Roman Josi and Nick Blankenburg, the Wild managed to close in on their lead by adding another goal to their tally. Juuse Saros was kept busy between the pipes for Nashville as he faced an increasing number of shots from Minnesota's offense.


Third Period


In the third period, tensions rose as both teams pushed hard for dominance. The Preds managed another goal thanks to Erik Haula's efforts but struggled defensively against Minnesota’s relentless attack. With Matt Boldy leading his team’s charge, Minnesota equalized late in regulation time.

Overtime


The overtime period proved decisive for this matchup. Despite Juuse Saros’ commendable performance throughout regular play with 38 saves overall, it was not enough to fend off Jared Spurgeon’s winning shot that sealed victory for Minnesota at 6-5.
