First Period

The opening period saw both teams finding the back of the net once. Filip Forsberg was instrumental for the Preds, scoring their first goal and showcasing his offensive prowess. However, it was Marco Kasper from the Wings who stole some spotlight by contributing significantly to his team's early momentum.

Second Period

In the second period, Nashville managed to capitalize on one of their three powerplay opportunities with Ryan O'Reilly assisting on a crucial goal. Despite this effort, Detroit's Albert Johansson helped his team take control by adding two goals during even-strength play. The Preds struggled defensively as they allowed too many shots on goal.
