Can the New Jersey Devils Ice the Pittsburgh Penguins' Streak at Prudential Center?

As the New Jersey Devils prepare to host the Pittsburgh Penguins at Prudential Center, fans are eager to see if their team can continue their recent performance trends. The upcoming clash, scheduled for March 19th, promises to be a riveting encounter in Newark.

The Devils have been showing a mixed bag of results in their past few games. They secured a convincing win against the St. Louis Blues with a score of 4-1, showcasing an impressive shooting percentage of twelve percent and capitalizing on powerplay opportunities by scoring once out of two chances. Their goaltending was solid with a save percentage rounding up to one hundred percent.

However, this victory was sandwiched between two losses. In their most recent game against the Florida Panthers, despite having an equal faceoff win percentage as in their victory and scoring once again on powerplay opportunities (one out of three), they fell short with three goals to five. Their shooting percentage remained consistent at twelve percent but wasn't enough for a win.

Earlier against the Los Angeles Kings away from home, they faced defeat with only one goal scored and five conceded. The team's shooting percentage dropped significantly to three percent during this match-up.

Analyzing these performances indicates that while there is potential for high-scoring games from New Jersey when they capitalize on powerplays and maintain strong goaltending, consistency remains an issue—particularly in converting shot attempts into goals consistently across games.

The visiting Pittsburgh Penguins will test this further; hence it is crucial for New Jersey's defense and special teams units to step up if they wish to triumph before their home crowd.

Fans can catch all the action live from Prudential Center on ESPN+ online or MSGSN and SportsNet PT on television as both teams vie for dominance on March 19th at 7:00 PM Eastern Time (ET).
