On defense and between the pipes, Jacob Markstrom faced a barrage of shots from Washington's offense. Despite conceding six goals throughout this high-scoring affair, Markstrom made an impressive 31 saves.


Player Performances


Erik Haula found himself contributing to New Jersey's scoreboard by netting one goal which added depth to their attacking options during crucial moments of play. Dawson Mercer also made notable contributions by scoring once which helped keep hope alive for New Jersey fans until late into overtime.

Defensively Jonas Siegenthaler stood out despite not contributing points; his physical presence was felt across four hits over significant ice time which helped disrupt some of Washington’s plays.
