First Period


The opening period saw both teams struggling to find their rhythm offensively. The Devils managed 21 shots on goal but couldn't convert any into points. Jake Allen stood strong in net for New Jersey, making crucial saves to keep his team in contention.


Second Period


As play resumed, both teams continued their defensive standoff. The Sabres finally broke through with a goal from Tage Thompson, assisted by Rasmus Dahlin and Dylan Cozens. Third Period


In an attempt to rally back, Timo Meier found the net for New Jersey early in this period with an assist from Jesper Bratt. However, Buffalo's Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen was formidable between the pipes throughout this game and thwarted further scoring attempts by making key saves against relentless pressure from players like Nico Hischier and Dougie Hamilton.


Despite their efforts, what went wrong for New Jersey Devils was evident as they struggled with giveaways totaling 17 compared to Buffalo's 18 but failed at critical moments leading up towards endgame scenarios where another late strike sealed victory away from home turf advantage yet again!
