In their last game against the Carolina Hurricanes, the Islanders secured a win with a score of 5-4. Their offensive play was impressive, netting five goals on 28 shots which translates to an excellent shooting percentage of approximately 18 percent. The team also demonstrated resilience on defense with 24 blocked shots and goaltending that saved 90 percent of shots faced.

However, in the preceding game against the Washington Capitals, despite putting up a strong fight and pushing into overtime, they fell short by one goal ending with a scoreline of 2-3. The Islanders managed to keep their shooting percentage at around six percent while maintaining an even faceoff win rate.

Earlier still in their schedule was another display of strength when they hosted Edmonton Oilers at UBS Arena. They emerged victorious with three goals from just 21 shots reflecting an impressive shooting accuracy of about 14 percent. Their defensive efforts were equally commendable as they blocked numerous attempts and had goaltending that saved nearly all shots faced – showcasing a save percentage close to 97 percent.

The upcoming match promises excitement as both teams will be looking to assert dominance early on. With recent performances showing high efficiency in scoring and solid defense from the Islanders, fans can expect them to leverage these strengths while also being mindful of consistency across periods.

The match is scheduled for January 26th at Bell Centre in Montreal where fans can catch live action on ESPN+ or MSGSN for those following away from home.
