At Madison Square Garden, packed to its full capacity of 18,006 fans, the home team displayed an impressive offensive performance. The Rangers took a total of 41 shots on goal compared to the Devils' 20. A significant contribution to their victory was their powerplay performance; they capitalized on one out of three opportunities and took eight shots during these advantageous moments.

The first period set the tone for what was to come as the Rangers scored twice while holding strong defensively. Despite not adding any points in the second period, they maintained pressure and kept control over much of the gameplay. In contrast, it was during this time that all three goals by the Devils were scored.

The third period saw another two goals from the home side which sealed their win. Notably, one goal came from their effective powerplay unit which has been pivotal throughout this season's campaign. The team's shooting percentage stood at ten percent by game's end – an indicator of both high volume and quality chances created.

Defensively speaking, goaltending played a crucial role in securing this win for New York Rangers as they made an impressive total save count at seventeen out of twenty shots faced – showcasing reliability when it mattered most.

As for faceoffs – often an underrated aspect of hockey – both teams were neck-and-neck with sixty-one each but ultimately it was faceoff wins that may have tipped scales slightly towards Ranger’s favor despite winning only forty-four percent overall.

On disciplinary matters both teams had substantial penalty minutes; however neither side could exploit these situations fully with no goals resulting from penalties throughout this encounter.

Looking ahead after celebrating tonight’s victory against their rivals across Hudson River; New York Rangers will be preparing for their next challenge away from home soil as they travel to Detroit to take on Detroit Red Wings at Little Caesars Arena scheduled for April 5th at 7:00 PM Eastern Time. Fans can catch all action live through various networks including ESPN+ online or BSDETX and MSGSN on television ensuring not miss any moment upcoming fixture!
