The New York Rangers are set to face off against the Florida Panthers at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, FL, on May 29. Based on recent performances, the Rangers appear poised for a strong showing.

In their last game against the Carolina Hurricanes on May 17, the NYR demonstrated resilience and offensive prowess. Despite trailing early, they rallied with four goals in the third period to secure a 5-3 victory. Chris Kreider and Vincent Trocheck were standout performers, contributing significantly to this comeback win. The team’s ability to generate scoring opportunities late in games is a testament to their depth and conditioning.

The NYR's powerplay has been effective recently, converting one of two opportunities against Carolina. This efficiency will be crucial against FLA's penalty kill unit. Additionally, their even-strength play has been solid; they scored four even-strength goals while maintaining a balanced faceoff win percentage of 50 percent.

Defensively, the Rangers have shown improvement as well. In their previous matchups with Carolina (May 13), they allowed only three goals despite facing an aggressive offense that took 36 shots on goal. Goaltender Igor Shesterkin was instrumental in this effort with his stellar performance between the pipes.

On the other hand, FLA enters this game following mixed results from recent encounters. They managed a narrow victory over NYR earlier but struggled defensively throughout that series. Their goaltending has been inconsistent; Sergei Bobrovsky allowed five goals on just 24 shots faced during one of those contests.

FLA’s offense relies heavily on star players like Aleksander Barkov and Jonathan Huberdeau who need support from secondary scorers if they hope to break through NYR’s defense effectively again.

Given these factors – including superior special teams play by NYR along with consistent goaltending – it seems likely that New York will dominate proceedings come game day at Amerant Bank Arena.
