Second Period

In response to their early deficit, New York came out strong in the second period. They scored three goals to level things up with contributions from Mika Zibanejad and Juuso Parssinen among others. Third Period

As tensions mounted in Madison Square Garden, both teams added another goal each in regulation time's final segment. For New York, maintaining pressure was key as they sought to edge ahead but were met with resilient defense and goaltending by San Jose.

Overtime

The overtime session proved decisive when Macklin Celebrini scored for San Jose after just two shots on goal during extra time play—securing them an important win away from home ice.
