Can the Ottawa Senators Ride Their Momentum to Victory at Rogers Arena?

As the Ottawa Senators prepare to face off against the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena, fans are buzzing with anticipation. The Senators have shown a remarkable ability to bounce back and maintain their composure under pressure, as evidenced by their recent performances.

In their last game on January 1st against the Buffalo Sabres, the Senators demonstrated a potent offense and solid defense, securing a 5-1 victory. This win was characterized by an impressive shooting percentage of 16 percent and a total of 31 shots on goal. The team's goaltending was equally formidable, with an outstanding save percentage that contributed significantly to their success.

The Senators' power play has been another area of strength. Although they only had one opportunity in their last game, they capitalized on it effectively. This is an aspect that could play a crucial role in the upcoming game against Vancouver.

However, it's not all smooth sailing for Ottawa. In one of their previous games on December 30th against the New Jersey Devils, despite putting up a valiant effort with 27 shots on goal and maintaining discipline with only four penalties incurred, they fell short in a high-scoring affair that ended in a loss with six goals conceded.

The key takeaway from these past games is that when OTT plays aggressively and utilizes its chances well—especially during power plays—they can dominate the ice. However, consistency remains an issue; lapses in defense can be costly as seen against New Jersey.

Looking ahead to Vancouver Canucks' home turf presents both challenge and opportunity for OTT. The Canucks will have home advantage but if OTT can harness its recent offensive prowess while tightening up defensively when needed – particularly by reducing giveaways which stood at 14 in both prior games – then there's every chance for victory.

OTT fans should expect an intense battle where every shift counts and special teams could tip the scales. With disciplined play and continued excellence from goaltenders who've proven themselves capable of stellar performances recently—OTT stands more than just a fighting chance; they carry momentum that could very well propel them towards another win.

Mark your calendars for January 2nd at 10:00 PM Eastern Time when this exciting matchup will take place at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. Fans won't want to miss this clash which promises plenty of action—and can catch all live coverage through ESPN+ online broadcasts.
