The team's shooting percentage was notable at 10 percent with a total of seven points earned from their efforts on offense. Four assists were contributed by players setting up scoring opportunities, which reflected on their collaborative play. Despite these efforts, they fell short as they were outscored by one goal.

On special teams, the Senators capitalized on one out of eight powerplay opportunities to add to their tally. Their powerplay unit managed six shots and two assists during these chances but could only find success once when they had a man advantage at 5v4 strength for over twelve minutes.

The Canadiens' performance was bolstered by an efficient shooting percentage nearing 19 percent and securing twelve points overall from their offensive plays which included eight assists indicating effective teamwork in creating scoring chances. They also excelled in faceoffs winning nearly 63 percent of them which gave them control over puck possession more often than not.
