At the Canada Life Centre, fans witnessed an intense matchup between the Ottawa Senators and the Winnipeg Jets. The Senators opened their scoring account early in the first period but were matched by a goal from the Jets. By second period, Ottawa managed to net two additional goals; however, this surge was overshadowed by Winnipeg's three goals during that same frame.

The Senators' offense made twenty-seven shots on goal throughout the game and successfully converted three into scores. Their shooting accuracy stood at eleven percent. Despite their efforts on offense, they struggled in faceoff circles with a win percentage of forty percent overall and even lower during power plays at forty percent.

Defensively, Ottawa delivered twenty-four hits and blocked twelve shots but gave away possession seven times due to giveaways. They also took six penalty minutes over three minor penalties which proved costly as they failed to capitalize on their two power play opportunities.

Goaltending for Ottawa showed nineteen saves out of twenty-four shots faced resulting in a save percentage of seventy-nine percent. Unfortunately for them, this wasn't enough to hold back Winnipeg's offensive push which resulted in five goals against them.

On the other side of ice, Winnipeg showcased an effective performance both offensively and defensively. They scored five goals from just twenty-four shots giving them an impressive shooting percentage of twenty-one percent. Their faceoff win rate was significantly better than Ottawa's at sixty percent overall which helped control game flow.

Winnipeg also capitalized on their power play chances scoring two out of four shots when they had one more player on ice than Ottawa did due to penalties taken by Senators players.

Their goaltender saved twenty-four out of twenty-seven shots making for an eighty-nine save percentage contributing greatly to their victory over visiting team from Canada’s capital city – The Senators
