Clash at Canadian Tire Centre: Ottawa Senators Face Off Against Colorado Avalanche

As the Ottawa Senators prepare to host the Colorado Avalanche at the Canadian Tire Centre, fans are eager to see if their team can continue their recent trend of success. The Senators have shown a mix of outcomes in their last few games, but one thing is clear: they're not going down without a fight.

In their most recent matchup against the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Senators emerged victorious with a 5-4 win in overtime. Despite being outshot 34 to 26, they managed an impressive shooting percentage of 19 percent and capitalized on even-strength opportunities by netting four goals. However, they'll need to tighten up on faceoffs where they only won 41 percent and improve their powerplay performance which didn't yield any goals from four opportunities.

Before that victory, the Senators faced off against the Avalanche themselves and suffered a loss with a final score of 6-4. They had an abundance of shots on goal at 45 but struggled with converting those chances into points with only an eight percent shooting success rate. Their powerplay did manage to score once out of six chances but will need more efficiency moving forward.

Their game prior was also marked by defeat at Mullett Arena against Arizona Coyotes where they scored three times from just 22 shots for a shooting percentage of around 14 percent but ultimately fell short by one goal in regulation time.

The upcoming game presents another chance for Ottawa to showcase resilience and adaptability. The home advantage could play into their hands as they seek redemption against Colorado while aiming for consistency in both offensive execution and defensive solidity.

Fans can catch all the action live on January 17th; puck drop is scheduled for local time at Canadian Tire Centre. For those who can't make it to the venue, ESPN+ will be broadcasting nationally online while ALT provides TV coverage locally on channel number 681.
