Ottawa Senators Set to Battle Philadelphia Flyers at Wells Fargo Center

As the Ottawa Senators prepare to face off against the Philadelphia Flyers at the Wells Fargo Center, fans are looking forward to what promises to be an electrifying game. The Senators have been showing a pattern of resilience and determination in their recent games, which could prove pivotal in their upcoming encounter.

The Senators' performance on December 24th against the Pittsburgh Penguins was nothing short of remarkable. Despite being outshot 34-26, they managed to secure a win with a shooting percentage of 19 percent compared to the Penguins' 12 percent. This victory was fueled by their ability to capitalize on even-strength opportunities, scoring four out of five goals during regular play and clinching one during overtime.

However, it's not just their offense that has been impressive; goaltending has also played a crucial role in their success. With a save percentage of nearly 88 percent against the Penguins, it's clear that when under siege, Ottawa's netminder can be counted on for stellar performances.

On December 22nd against the Colorado Avalanche, despite putting up an impressive number of shots (45), they fell short with only an eight percent conversion rate into goals. This indicates that while creating opportunities is one of their strengths, there is room for improvement when it comes to finishing those chances.

In contrast with these two games where offensive prowess varied significantly, one consistent area for improvement is faceoffs. The Senators have struggled in this aspect with win percentages hovering around low forties across both matches. Dominating faceoffs can lead to better control over the game and more scoring opportunities – something they'll need against Philadelphia.

The Flyers will certainly pose a challenge; however based on recent performances by both teams and considering how well-rounded Ottawa’s gameplay has been – from defense through goaltending – there’s reason for optimism among Senator fans.

Looking ahead at January 21st's matchup between these two teams at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia offers much anticipation. Fans eager to see if Ottawa can continue its trend of overcoming shot deficits through efficient scoring and solid goaltending should mark their calendars for this exciting game set at 6:00 PM Eastern Time Zone (ET). The match will be broadcasted nationally on ESPN+ as well as locally via NBCS-PH for those who prefer television viewing over internet streaming services.
