Ottawa Senators Clash with Toronto Maple Leafs in Battle at Canadian Tire Centre

As the Ottawa Senators prepare to host the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Canadian Tire Centre, fans are eager to see if their team can continue their recent trend of high-scoring performances. The Senators have shown a remarkable ability to find the back of the net, as evidenced by their last three games where they scored 5, 4, and 3 goals respectively.

Despite this offensive prowess, consistency has been a challenge for Ottawa. Their most recent victory against Pittsburgh showcased an impressive shooting percentage of 19 percent and a strong performance during even-strength play where they netted all five goals. However, faceoff win percentages have been less than ideal across these matches averaging around 44 percent which could be crucial in maintaining possession against a skilled Toronto team.

Defensively, Ottawa has had its ups and downs. In their game against Colorado Avalanche, despite losing with four points on board for themselves, they managed an impressive number of saves at 33 out of 38 shots on goal. This resilience was slightly diminished in their subsequent game versus Arizona Coyotes where they allowed four goals from just over half as many shots faced.

The venue may play into Ottawa's hands; playing at home should give them an edge with fan support potentially influencing momentum swings during the game. Special teams will also be key - powerplay opportunities need to be capitalized upon more effectively than in previous outings.

Fans can catch this exciting matchup scheduled for February 11th on ESPN+ internet broadcast network. The puck drops at midnight UTC time (7:00 PM Eastern Time), so make sure not to miss what promises to be an enthralling encounter between these two Canadian rivals right here in Ottawa's own backyard.
